Cardio - How NOT To Lose Chest Fat

Cardio is definitely NOT the way to lose chest fat.

People always tell you that to burn fat, you have to exercise in the fat-burning 'zone'. The best way to do this is through long duration cardio.

Now it may seem a little paradoxical, but exercising in the fat-burning 'zone' is not the best way to lose body fat, nor is it the best way to lose chest fat.

Cardio does NOT help you to lose chest fat. There's more to losing fat than just calories in VS calories out

The trouble is that these people are using too much of a simplistic model of the human body. They look at the human body as a car burning fuel, where the more fuel you burn, the emptier the fuel tank (i.e. your chest/belly) gets.

But the human body is far more advanced than any car (yes, it's more advanced than a Bugatti Veyron), plane, or anything we humans have created.

Unlike man-made machines, your body resists change and adapts to its environment. Believe it or not, if you overeat, your body resists weight gain by increasing your metabolism, lowering your appetite, increasing your physical activity, and producing fat-burning hormones.

When you UNDER-eat by restricting your calories, the hunger center in your brain kicks in to increase your appetite, your metabolism drops like a brick, and you don't feel like exercising so much.

When you burn fat with long-duration cardio, your body does everything to replace that fat. It does this so it can prepare you for that next bout of cardio. If you're involved in a type of activity that uses fat for fuel, then it makes sense for your body to do everything it can to replace those fuel stores.

After a session of working out in the fat burning 'zone', your body replaces those fat stores by activating the hunger center in your brain so you eat more. It also releases hormones that transform as much of the food you eat as possible, into fat, and stores it to help you with your NEXT cardio session.

See what I'm getting at?

By doing long duration cardio, by exercising in the fat burning zone, you are training your body to transform into a fat-storing machine.

I've had my fair share of cardio in my day, and I know how it gets harder and harder to lose any fat as time goes by. The more cardio you do, the harder it gets to change your appearance, and now you know why.

Cardio trains your body to act AGAINST your efforts.

What you SHOULD be doing, is training your body to transform into a fat BURNING machine, by doing the type of exercise discussed here.

When you do the right TYPE of exercises, you signal your body to burn fat while you rest.

Rather than look at the body as a calories-in VS calories-out machine like a car, look at it as a computer - you can program it the way you want it to be. Program your body with the right TYPE of exercise, and it will burn fat for you on autopilot.

Not only body-fat, but the same type of exercise can also help you to grow muscle and lose chest fat.

How To Lose Chest Fat

See, when it comes to losing chest fat, long distance cardio only makes things worse.

Studies have shown that long distance cardio athletes have lower resting testosterone levels than the average sedentary male. They also have higher levels of the stress hormone cortisol, which reduces the effects of testosterone on your body.

We know that testosterone is the main male sex hormone in your body. The very reason you get too much chest fat or man boobs, is because of a high estrogen to testosterone ratio (i.e. high estrogen and low testosterone). By reducing your testosterone levels, long duration cardio only signals your body to store as much fat as it can on your chest.

The good news here is that the same type of exercise that helps signal your body to torch body fat, also signals your body to release MORE testosterone. This stimulates your body to focus more on burning chest fat than fat anywhere else in your body.

I personally learned about this type of exercise from my coach, Garry Davidson. He tells you all about it in his program, How To Lose Man Boobs Naturally.

Does Gynecomastia Treatment Without Surgery Really Work?

Gynecomastia treatment without surgery may not work for everyone, but in my experience, it does  work for the vast majority of guys.

See, there are just a handful of guys who can only get rid of their man boobs via surgery. These are guys who have developed excessively large female breast glands due to prolonged exposure to high levels of the female hormone estrogen. Over time, these breast glands harden by undergoing a process called 'fibrosis'. When this happens, the only way to get rid of the breast glands is under the knife - through surgical resection.

The good news though, is that most guys either have excess chest fat minus the glands, or they have both excess chest fat and the glands. Guys with just excess chest fat can lose their man boobs completely using natural methods. If you have chest fat with breast glands, then you can significantly reduce the size of your man boobs using natural methods. Once you've flattened out your chest as much as you can, you can then think about having surgery.

But in most cases, losing the excess chest fat is all you need. A little excess breast tissue behind the nipples is hardly an issue for most guys. You can only really notice them when those breast glands are abnormally large.

Regardless of what type of man boons you  have, anyone with any form of man boobs will benefit by learning about gynecomastia treatment without surgery, since even your surgeon will tell you that such methods (which include exercise, diet and weight reduction) are required to prevent gynecomastia from returning after surgery.

Gynecomastia Treatment Without Surgery - Working Tactics

Getting a masculine, flat chest using natural methods alone involves finding and eliminating the cause of gynecomastia.

Regardless of whether or not a medical disease is at fault, gynecomastia is usually the result of elevated female sex hormones, namely estrogen. So if for any reason your body's estrogen levels are elevated continuously for prolonged periods of time (or testosterone is lowered), your body will respond by developing breasts, in just the same way that women develop breasts during puberty.

The reason us guys look different from women, is due to the roles that both estrogen and testosterone play in the body. Normally, an adult male has up to 10 times more testosterone than an adult female. This elevated testosterone (and low estrogen) is what prevents us guys from developing breasts, and instead gives us extra body hair, deep voices, increased muscle mass, and superior intelligence (shhh don't tell any woman I said that).

Sadly, this hormone balance plays far too big a role in deciding our masculine characteristics than we would like. If either one of these hormones is altered, it can quite easily lead to the development of breasts in men.

There are a vast range of different factors that can change either one of these hormones and result in breast development. These can fall into any of the following categories: health-related issues, certain medical drugs, everyday exposure to hormone-altering chemicals, hormonal fluctuations that happen during puberty, unknown causes (25% of cases).

If you really are considering undergoing gynecomastia treatment without surgery I advise you to go and see your doctor to first rule out any serious medical causes for your gynecomastia. Your doctor will also examine your breasts to see if there is any hard breast tissue, which, as I mentioned, may require surgical resection.

Though there's a small chance for a medical cause, it's most likely that your man boobs were triggered by environmental factors.

Before taking medical drugs, or even thinking about having surgery, those guys whose man boobs are not caused by a medical illness would greatly benefit by first attempting to reduce their gynecomastia through natural avoidance of environmental triggers. Addressing the environmental factors that cause hormonal fluctuations leading to man boobs, is still important even if your doctor tells you you need surgery. You must reduce your man boobs first using natural methods BEFORE you have surgery, otherwise your man boobs will just grow back AFTER surgery.

I won't lie to you and tell you that pharmaceutical drugs don't work. They actually do work pretty well, but it’s not the safest nor the healthiest option, since you can achieve a perfectly flat chest through natural methods alone. Many natural methods are indeed more powerful than medical drugs.

In the modern world, estrogen is widely used in almost EVERYTHING. Estrogen-like particles called "xenoestrogens" are commonly found in our water supply (where they are completely unfiltered) and almost all processed foods. They are used in fertilizers and pesticides to treat our crops, used as preservatives to increase the shelf-life of produce, and used directly to promote growth and increased milk production in livestock.

One important aspect of gynecomastia treatment without surgery, is to reduce your body's exposure to these environmental estrogens. It's also important to utilize other male-breast-reduction methods that actively pull estrogen away from your body, and methods that increase levels of the male hormone testosterone.

Such tactics involve the control of your diet and specialized exercises that are known to control the circulation of sex horomones in your body. It's also important to know that there is more to losing man boobs than just diet and exercise. The Best Upper Body Workout For Male Breast Reduction

Male breast reduction is best achieved when tackled from two distinct angles.  Specific chest resistance exercises like those mentioned below are always well complimented by some form of cardio exercise like climbing, running or swimming.

Exercising the muscles of the chest directly by doing pushups, bench presses etc does not burn much fat in the area.

The right balance of diet and cardio when combined, allows the body to burn fat from all over.

Hence having a body-builder’s muscular chest is best achieved when you put in the extra cardio workout.

Enough said about cardio.  Let me introduce you to a powerful chest exercise for effective male breast reduction

Muscle Building Upper Body Dips

Its common knowledge that the single most metabolically stimulating weight-training exercise is the squat.

Dips are for the chest, as squats are for the legs.

Since dips involve using your body weight, they are not as glamorous as the bench press and have unfortunately lost much popularity in the modern day. The truth remains however, that past bodybuilding giants such as Vince Gironda used dips to achieve huge and perfectly defined chests, many without ever going near the bench press. Vince’s preferences are not taken lightly, since he successfully trained a number of top bodybuilders, including Arnie, Larry Scott and Lou Ferrigno, and also celebrities such as Clint Eastwood, Clint Walker, Cher and Erik Estrada.

In fact, he replaced all of the bench presses in his gym with dipping stations.

Chest dips are a powerful exercise that quickly improves the overall strength of the entire upper torso.

Engaging more muscles simultaneously causes more anabolic hormones to be released, stimulating better growth of muscle than using equipment like the bench press or cable crossovers that would focus on the chest only.

Building a wide looking chest is easy as long as your exercise routine focuses on chest dipping which encompasses a downward motion in the arms which by extension works the outer portion of the largest muscle in the chest area that is affectionately called “the pecs”.

To really get a full chest workout the original chest dipping exercise just has to be adjusted with a small tilt forward while doing the exercise.

Conclusions and Tips for Effective Male Breast Reduction …

There is no better exercise for building the muscles of the male chest like chest dips.

Mastering the correct technique for this exercise will produce excellent results in building chest muscles.

I can tell you that you’ll get a really muscular chest by adding pushups along with bench presses to the chest dipping exercise.

If chest dips are done properly the whole chest is exercised but the stimulation has a bigger impact on the lower chest than on the upper chest.

In order to even things out so you can get bigger square stone-slab-like pecs, it helps to combine chest dips with decline pushups, where you have your feet elevated to target your upper chest.

Rest the muscles of the chest for a few days especially after a strenuous workout.

The chest muscles will continue to grow larger with repeated workouts and these routines should be done every other day at first and then with bigger time lapses between workouts as the muscles get larger and need a greater time for recovery.

Over time, in order to see further gains, it will be important for you to take longer rest-periods, going from every other day, to 3 days per week, to 2 days per week, and finally as an advanced bodybuilder (if that’s what your goal is), just once per week.

Male breast reduction isn't easy, but when you put chest dips into the mix, it's only a matter of time before you're walking around with a perfectly flat, masculine chest.
